Quick Organizational Post

I found out about these Multi-Purpose Bins from the Container Store in a Scrapbook Organizational group that I'm in on Facebook!! So I got the idea of how to fix the paper falling over in my Thirty-One Your Way Cubes.  I picked up Large and Medium; one of each fits side by side perfectly inside the Thirty-One Cubes!!!  Let's not talk about how cheap they are!!! You can't beat the price, $5 for the Medium and $6 for the large!!!   Get 'em while you can, they're back in stock on their website.

Cleaning & Organizing

So I've spent majority of the summer trying to figure out how to enjoy my scrapbook space again, so I ....CLEANED IT!!!!  I've sold a bunch of small stuff that was easy to ship and gave a bunch away to a friend.  I went through every single piece of paper, sticker, scrap paper, vinyl,  EVERYTHING!!  I had to  get this place cleaned out.  I reogranized some things and moved some stuff around to make my space more efficient and finally, not only do I want to make things, I LOVE just hanging out in my space again!! I still have some changes I'd like to make and some organizing that I need to finish, but it has worked out very well.  Here are a few pictures!

A huge change other than my new drawers, is my sticker storage!  I watched a great video from Jennifer McGuire (you can watch it here)  where she used Job Ticket Holders to store her 8 1/2 x 11 paper.  I didn't need that, but I thought it would be a great idea for my stickers.  So that's what I used it for and it works great!!!! They are no longer just thrown into my Longaber Basket. 

Organzing with Evernote

So I have spent the majority of my weekend learning to use Evernote!! I found out about this from some ladies in a Facebook group that I'm a part of and a nice lady that  I scrapbook with from time to time.  Probably one of the best things I've ever used and it's FREE!!!! At least there is a free version, you can pay for additional space because it will only allow for you to use a certain amount before it makes you pay.  I have put in pictures of each of my stamps and dies.  I set up notebooks for each. I tagged each stamp with absolutely anything I could think of so that when searching I would be sure to get all possible options.  All the pictures are from google images to save space.  It's great because it sincs with my phone and Ipad, so I can always see what I have wherever I am.  Here is a screen shot of my stamp notebook

Woohoo a more portable way to store and carry my stamps and dies!!!! The thirty-one your way rectangle. I used 5x8 index card dividers and labeled them by theme (holiday,season,fonts etc) and then sorted within the theme by brand. I used two different label color labels in the label maker to show the difference in categories and brands. I keep my stamps and dies in long zip-loc bags or CD envelopes depending on size. They're labelled with the brand and stamp title.

Organizing over Christmas

Well, I have gotten a little organization in over Christmas.  I had to make room for my new Ebosser is really what got me movtivated.  So I have a few new addtions to my scrapbook room an I had to share.  First up my new 12" Revolving Four Tray Bin from Harbor Freight.  Love it!!! It holds so much stuff and it's all super easy to get too!!! Liquid and dry adhesives, stickles, sprays, silhouette pens, washi tape, you name it, it's up there!  

Next I picked up the Creative Options Grab N Go Medium Rack System.  I found it at Micheal's half off so it was a great deal.  The top has all of my Close to my heart ink pads an a few markers.  The first drawer has a few buttons and googly eyes, and all of my Megan Elizabeth mini inks.  The second drawer has my sponge daubers, tear drop momento inks and Zig Mellenium Pens.  The last drawer has my Copic Spica markers, gel pens and Wink of Stella Glitter pens.  I love it because it really is grab 'n go for a crop.  My plan for this year is to get all of my supplies to a point that I can pack and unpack more easily.

Project Life Organization

I've been doing some organization lately so I thought I'd do a quick post about it.  I've recently got into doing a little project life.  Mainly to actually get caught up and be able to have time to do other fun projects.  So with all the PL kits that I've bought lately I've been scouring Pinterest for organizational ideas.  I came across a gazzilion but a couple actually are working out for me wonderfully.  Check out this video on You Tube for organizing your cards.  It's a little long, but the PL part starts towards the middle if you want to fast forward.

My Mom found something great that would go with this, but I'm not investing in it at the moment just because it'll get a little costly for me.  I love the divders that Becky Higgens has, but the tabs are not staggered.  ScrapRack Divers are staggered so the dividers would be easier to read.  I'm fine with what I have but it is a great option so I thought I'd share it.

 

Rolling Cart Update

In a previous post I talked about my Raskog Kitchen Cart.  I love this cart and it holds a ton of stuff.  Over the past weekend I bought a 2nd one.  I haven't put that one together yet, but it will hold my Project Life cards and a few other things that I have hanging around my scrapbook room that need a home and better access for me.  I'm trying to get organized for crop season as I like to call it.  Fall will be rolling in shortly and all of the day and weekend crops will start up so organization is a must!

Here is a picture of my first cart now organized with my punches and stamps.  The bottom to shelves are full with punches and the top holds my large organizer from Close To My Heart.  The punches are held in the Antonius Basket Insert from Ikea.

Here is another tray holding has 2 full Project Life sets and 1 mini kit. Soon this be sitting in my 2nd cart! I can't wait to finish getting everything together.

Die Cut Storage

I switched to a new Die cut storage.  Actually I just made it bigger.  I've been using the binder storage method for a while now, but it was in a small binder.  I've switched to a regular size binder.  I'm using the Martha Stewart binder from Staples.  You can use any binder though I had a coupon so I bought a Martha one.  I'm also using her page protectors that have POCKETS!!!!  I bought the one with 4 on the front and the one with two on the front.  I used the post it tabs to divide the pages instead of dividers.  The tabs are are good enough for me, I didn't see a need for an extra thing between the pages.  I sorted the die cuts by manufacturer.  It does fill up pretty quick so if I was a huge collector of metal die cuts this might not work for me or I would have a larger binder or multiple ones.  I have 22 pages or so in here. I also have embossing folders in the back and in the front zip pocket, also by Martha Stewart, I put in a couple of the embossing folders with the die cut that Cuttlebug used ot make.  I took a few pictures with my cell phone when I was finished.

I used the 2 pocket page protectors for both of these.  For the embossing folders I embossed cardstock so that I would know exactly what the impression looked like when it was embossed. 

Can't get enough organization

I talk about organization ALL the time!! There are a ton of reasons for that.  Other than trying to make my space super efficient so that I can get more pages done it's just plain a pain in the behind to pack for a scrappy weekend away.  I'm gradually getting better about not brining my entire scrapbook room, but as with all things I'm a work in progress.  So, todays organizing post is about my new favorite Thirty-One Tote.  Now I'm not plugging it because I sell it, but really I just like the darn thing.  I actually love it!  It's probably up there with the Large Utility Tote for me.  The Super Organizing Tote is new to Thirty-One.  I think it came out in the 2012 fall catalog (yeah I'm a great consultant, huh).  Anyway I actually hadn't paid the tote any attention at all until a few weeks ago while relaxing at a friends house going through the summer catalog.  So, if you ever actually read a catalog Thirty-One makes solution sets to help us consultants sell the products.  Well they put in a solution set for scrapbookers!!!!! Yeah that's right they gave us crafty folks a shout out!!!  So it's just bag right, nothing exciting.  NOPE, that's not the case with this bag.  IT HOLDS A 12" TRIMMER!!! Yeah I know you're sold now, right! I know I was.  I travel with 2 trimmers for a weekend away.  My new Carl Trimmer of course and everyone's absolute favorite the Making Memories Trimmer.  You got it and they both fit and you know what else fits in this bag...The Creative Memories Power Sort Box and Two additional Power Sort Dividers.  So now you want to see it to believe it, right..HERE YA GO!!

Oh yeah and it ZIPS SHUT!!!  You could totally do a day crop using the Super Organizing Tote.  It has  pockets on the outside for all kinds of stuff so that's great too.  It's great!!!!  Well that's my new favorite organizing thing!!!
